The Glenfiddich Distillery is located in Dufftown, Scotland and was founded in 18860 by William Grant. Glenfiddich in Gaelic means ‘The valley of the deer’, hence the presence of a deer symbol on Glenfiddich bottles. The Glenfiddich single malt whisky first ran from the stills on Christmas Day, of 1887. The Glenfiddich is is the only Speyside Scotch whisky to be distilled, matured and bottled at a single distillery, and the only one to use a single source of natural spring water. It is matured in oak rum casks from Cuba, bourbon whikey barrels from America or Spanish sherry casks.
