Caol Ila

Gaelic for Sound of Islay, Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson. The distillery was rebuilt and modernised in the 1970's and now has a rather functional and unromantic appearance. The still house contains six stills and enjoys spectacular views out ot the sea and the Isle of Jura.

An important part of the Bell's blend, it is now becoming more readily available as a malt in a variety of different ages.
