Judging by its name, some might think that the 898 unvarnished is the same cigar as the 898 varnished; but in different style cabinet. This is not true, as these are two completely different cuban cigars. The 898 unvarnished is a cigar that is milder that your usual partagas, with rich woody and nutty flavours. It was discontinued in 2002 and has already become very hard to find. James Fox has a stock of these cigars, in the traditional 8-9-8 cabinets that have been aging in our humidified enviroment.
