James Fox Dublin Store is the focal point in Dublin for lovers of Whiskey and premium Cuban Cigars. Here you will find the largest selection of longfiller handmade cigars in Ireland, which are maintained at the peak of perfection in our state of art humidified enviroment. The James Fox store is the only cigar store in Ireland to source cigars exclusively from the Habanos official agents in Ireland and the UK, and is the only cigar store in Ireland to carry the Habanos certificate of authenticity.

For over 125 years, James Fox has been the premier shop in Ireland and has now added to this reputation a large range of Irish and Scotch Whiskeys, to satisfy the most descerning pallate.

Our staff, led by David McGrane who with over 40 years of experience of fine cigars and a love for Whiskey, font a professional sales team who are here to advise and ensure that our customer's expectations are exceeded.

Who we are:

Our esteemed leader, David McGrane's knowledge on cigars is unsurpassed, save for his knowledge about Dublin and its history. His favourite cigar - a Fox Punch Nectares Number 6, savoured after a meal sometime in the haze of the 1980s in the company of our even more esteemed Chairman Oliver Hill. His favourite Whiskey - Ireland's famous Green Spot pure pot still - David is a traditionalist and purist at heart.
Mike Flynn is the shops wine enthusiast. "We have a small and exciting selection to suit all palates". Mike is currently enjoying Rhone reds which go well with Partagas Serie D #4. A great combination of richness and fullness from both the cigar and the wine.	Kate Kluczynska is the newest member in the James Fox retail squad. An avid outdoors entusiast, Kate likes to enjoy a James Fox Half Corona and a glass of TurfMor after a day's trekking and horse riding in the Wicklow mountains.

Origins:

The Shop was established in 1881 by James John Fox, and since then it has passed through 4 generations of his descendants. His Son Walter Fox inherited the business in 1916. This was a turbulent time in Ireland, with the rising in 1916 and the civil war of the 1920's - the effects of which have been captured in the hand written ledgers of the shop. By 1930 the business had passed to Walters son Frederic and despite the world economic depression it was he who oversaw expansion into Distribution in Ireland and the UK and expanded the retail operations into the Duty Free market and into London. Freddie died in 1990 by which stage his son Ron and son in law Oliver Hill were running the business, and both are still involved in directing the business today. Ron's sons Stuart and Rob now run the businesses in the UK and Ireland respectively with our Grafton Street store being run by David McGrane.
