Pronounced "brook-laddie," Bruichladdich sits close to Port Charlotte on Islay.
A relativley new distillery on Islay, built in using concrete! It was extended in but has had many silent periods throughout its life, and was closed as recently as .
In 2000 it was bought by a consortium of private investors and is again producing a fantastic range of well marketed products. It is even possible to buy and reserve your own cask for maturation. A new malt is set to appear in ten years or so, called Port Charlotte. This will be in-effect a peatier/smokier version of Bruichladdich, we will just have to wait.
