Beer Steins

Beer Steins are handmade beer tankards made from stoneware or porcelain and originate from central Europe. Beer Steins are popular in Central Europe since the 14th century, when Germany implemented a law that required beverage containers to have a closed lid, in order to prevent the spread of Black Plague.

Nowadays, Beer Steins come in all different sizes and shapes and they are often decorated in a nostalgic manner, with allusions to Germany or Bavaria. The Steins in our collection are all handmade in Germany from master craftsmen, and handpainted in Irish and German themes.
